Dustin and I could not be more excited about where God has brought us. We always knew that we wanted to adopt a child but thought we would have all of our biological kids first and then adopt after that. Funny how we think we have a plan right. So you’re asking how did we get to this point; well we had several discussions about when we thought we may have a second child but every time it came up nothing really felt right. As we continued to pray for God's will and guidance we began to feel God move our hearts to adopt. The more and more we talked about it with each other and friends the more God was confirming the plan he had for us. We continued to pray and began researching agencies and any kind of adoption information we could get our hands on. On 12/3/10 I requested an information packet from AWAA and within a couple days it was at our door. We looked through it all and I mean all of it, we were just so excited to get it we didn't want to miss a thing. Then on 12/7/10 we sent in our application and 12/17/10 we got the call that we had been accepted!! Wow that was fast, but we have no doubt that this is God’s will for our lives and I love it.
Our next steps are going to be a home study, which I am figuring we will be doing after the holidays, and then a few months of paper work. After all the paper work in finished and turned in, we wait. I know this is going to be the hardest part of the adoption process waiting on a picture of our little 0-12 month old boy!!
How can you help?
1) Prayer: Pray for our family. Pray for Dustin and I as we begin to fill out the paper work, that the process will go smoothly and for wisdom and strength. For our little Hadden, that God will prepare his heart to become a big brother. For our little boy on the other side of the world that might not even be born yet. Pray that our story will influence someone else to begin this amazing journey.
2) Donations: If you are interested in donating money to help us bring our little boy home you can do this through the donate button to the right. If you are interested in a tax deduction donation just email me directly at morganl.finn@gmail.com and we will have to do this through the agency.
We will keep you posted as me move along this exciting journey.
