I have always been the kid that took their lunch. I never really liked the cafeteria food in school so I preferred it. Even when I would lifeguard in the summers I would pack my lunch every morning. When I left for college I had the meal plan which wasn't so bad since you had the options of eating in the grill (Subway, Taco Bell, and a Pizza Place). As I got on into my freshman year I began to notice the meal plan wasn't so healthy, if you know what I mean. Starting my sophomore year no more meal plan and back to eating lunch in my room. Basically I never eat out for lunch, 1. It gets expensive and 2. It's really unhealthy. Here lately though I have just been sick of my lunches and sick of getting hungry so soon after I eat. Granted I do try and take an afternoon snack if we have something at the house.
My normal lunch consists of a sandwich, (ham and cheese most of the time) chips, and applesauce. I really do like sandwiches but I think I am finally just burnt out and need a break. Another thing is I try to wait until 11:30 to eat but I'm starving by 11:00. Since I eat so early I am ready for dinner by 4:30. It's so frustrating!
What is your lunch like? Do you eat out or take your lunch every day? If you pack your lunch what do you pack and what are some good snacks that hold you over?

I always bring my lunch too. It's either a lean cuisine and yogurt, or soup and yogurt. My mid morning and afternoon snacks are bananas, apples, flavored apple sauce, hershey kisses. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the lunch box.
sometimes i like to bring a salad that i make at home. i just put it in a tupperware container and then add the dressing when it's time to eat it. elizabeth does that, too. we use things like, fresh spinach, boiled eggs, tomatoes, green peppers, avocado, etc. It's really good and easy to make! it's also a great way to get fresh veggies!
ReplyDeletei also like to bring leftovers from the night before, too.
one really good snack that e and i both eat sometimes is yogurt with granola. and, sometimes, she'll bring plain yogurt, and add fresh fruit and granola to it. nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts) are also a great pick me up for a morning snack!
hope this helps!
