When you mix bed bugs, smoke detectors, and a wedding in the woods you will get an Ultimate girls weekend. I a long with 20 other girls headed to Gatlinburg this past weekend for a relaxing girls trip. I didn't know many of the girls but was really excited to get to go and get a chance to get to know many of them. What an awesome group of girls!! I was with one of the first groups to arrive at our cabin and it was so nice (looks can be deceiving). Once everyone arrived we all just sat around talking and getting to know everyone. We played a few games and around 3:30am we decide it was time for bed and that's when it all began. BED BUGS everywhere, all in everyone's bed!!!! Yes we are girls but I am not over reacting. So at 3:30 we were calling maintenance and even he was grossed out. 4:00 we packed up all our stuff and left for our next cabin but not the last. We had to split up that night into two different cabins. We had all figured out sleeping arrangements and had finally went to sleep for the night so we thought. The heat kicked on in the middle of the night which in turn set off our smoke detectors. The best part was not one person got up. 8:30 we were up for another day and awaiting our next destination. 10:00 we were all packed and heading to our new cabin that would hold everyone. Thanks to Jennifer and Carrie we all got our money back for the weekend!!!! After we got settled in for the third time and had some lunch we split up in groups. Some went shopping, to downtown Gatlinburg, and on a hike if you want to call it. I went on the so called hike. We had some great conversations and a lot of fun. Though the highlight of the journey was defiantly the wedding in the middle of the woods by probably the smallest water fall I have ever seen. That night we all met back up for dinner and were ready for a night with no Bed Bugs and that's what we got. To top the weekend off on the way home Sunday Courtney, Ashley, Carrie, and I stopped at the Apple Barn and boy do we like apples, not one of us left without buying something. I do have to add there is nothing like a fresh apple pie and cider from the Apple Barn. It was a great trip and I love the girls they are all so great!
