Both Hands Project

When thinking about adoption you often first think about how much it cost and think nope we could never afford that, and you never take that step of faith and see how the Lord will move.  As we began to pray about how we were going to pay for our adoption we came across a book endorsed by Dave Ramsey Adopt Without Debt.  If you know us we LOVE Dave Ramsey so we decided to take a look at the book.  One of the things he talks about is Lifesong for Orphans and the Both Hands Foundation.  As we looked further into what the foundation was all about, we really felt like this is something we wanted to do.

Through Lifesong families can get no interest loans for their adoption as well as set up a tax deductible account where people can make donations to the family's adoption.  Lifesong also partners with Both Hands by handling all the funds raised for each project.

JT Olson is the founder of the Both Hands Foundation.  The purpose of Both Hands is to provide for the orphan and the widow by living out the commandment found in James 1:27.  So what does the project intel?  We first got a team of friends and family together that could commit to sending out letters for sponsorships as we work on the widow's home for a full day.  All the money raised goes directly to helping bring our son home!! Isn't it awesome that not only did we get to help a sweet lady in need but we also got to raise money to help bring our little boy home.  After we got connected with our widow (Mona) we went to meet her and see what her needs were.  Little did I know how much of a blessing she was going to be in our lives!

Last Saturday Dustin and I along with our team of volunteers met at Mona's house and got to work.  That day we were able to pressure wash her house, paint the porch, adjust doors, hang blinds, put shelving up in her laundry room, shampoo the carpets and just over all organize/clean from top to bottom.

I am so thankful that we were able to do this project not only was it a blessing to Mona, but to us as well.

We can not say thank you enough to everyone that helped make this day possible, the volunteers,  the people who prayed, and all of the people who donated. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.  Dustin and I both said right after we meet Mona and saw the needs that she had, that if we didn't raise anything from this project that it would be worth doing it just to help her.  It was an amazing day and truly a blessing to bless Mona.  God was all over that day and it was so fun to get to be a part of his work.

  1. This is amazing, Morgan!!! I've looked at this foundation many times and even printed off some forms but I think I never realized exactly what this was all about. What a truly wonderful blessing this is!!
