It Came!!!!!

The I-171 is in our hands, this was the last form we needed to mail our Dossier off so guess what's going out Monday. Yep, our Dossier is being overnighted to our agency!!! It took us exactly 2 months from the day we sent it to get it back and I have to say I slept so good last night. I am so excited to be one step closer to having our son home!

WOOOO HOOOO!! CONGRATS!! We are awaiting our fingerprint appointment from our I-800A application right now...it's been a couple weeks now since we sent it in. Know what you mean about the "sleeping" part...ever since we sent ours in, I've been so restless! So happy you are one giant step closer to your baby!!

11/16/10, Feeling God leading us to adopt - Praying
12/7/10, Filled out the online application with AWAA
12/17/10, Our application was approved by AWAA for the Ethiopia program!
12/21/10, Mailed our signed agreement and initial payment to AWAA
12/29/10, Got assighned a family coordinator
1/6/11, Contacted by our Social Worker and set up first meeting
1/10/11, Sent in our payment for our home study and post placement reports
1/13/11 & 1/14/11, Physical Exams
1/15/11, Our first set of fingerprints
1/18/11, First Home Study Meeting at Panera Bread
1/28/11, Both of our individual Home Study meetings at Panera
2/2/11, Last Home Study meeting at our house
2/14/11, Recieved the draft of our home study
2/18/11, Final draft of our home study came in the mail

3/11/11, Recieved our fingerprint appointments in the mail
3/15/11, FBI Fingerprints
3/18/11, Got papers certified
4/22/11, Received our I-171 form
4/25/11, Mailed our Dossier to our agency
4/29/11, Dossier to Ethiopia (DTE) Date!!!
5/4/11, Dossier arrived in Ethiopia

WHY ETHIOPIA?

There are 4.6 million orphans in Ethiopia

Only 5% of births are attended by a doctor
There is 1 doctor for every 48,000 people
1 in every 6 people either has AIDS or is HIV positive
15% of orphans are orphaned because of AIDS
