This is a couple days late, it was 24 months on April 29. Monday was a good day but still in the back of my head I have to say I was sad. I can't believe it has taken so long I am ready to have our son home and think about it often. Honestly we thought our son would have been home a long time ago. The wait time when we started was 4-6 months what a difference to now 24-30 months. Either way God has a bigger plan so we will continue to wait on him and watch his perfect plan unfold.

Life and Adoption Update
Wow it's been a really long time since I visited the old blog. Looking at some of the pictures I can't believe how much time has passed and how much has changed. I guess first I will start with life so I can explain more in the adoption update.
Since the last post we....
- Sold our first house
- Moved to an apartment for 6 months
- Had a Jonah's Journey baby for 4 months
- Found out we were pregnant in March
- Dustin started and finished our new house in 6 months
- Moved in on June 30 last year
- Hadden turned 3 in September
- Had our baby girl Westyn on November 11
- Celebrated our first Christmas in our new house
So that's our year in a nut shell. We did so many fun things in between that I hope can each have a post of their own, if I can find the time. Life with two sweet ones is much more busy but we are loving every min of it.
The question that we are getting more often now that Westyn is here and we are coming up on 2 years waiting is "are you still adopting?" The answer is yes we are still waiting for a 0-24 months old little boy from Ethiopia. When we first started that adoption process back in Dec of 2010 the wait time for a little boy was 4-6 months. Shortly after we mailed out Dossier to Ethiopia lots of uncertain changes started happening all of which I do believe are for the good of the children in Ethiopia. Due to the changes that were made the wait time for Ethiopia is much longer. We have seen it slowly lengthen from 4-6 months to now 24-30 months. We have now been waiting 24 months. During our wait there were many times we felt unsure what the Lord wanted us to do. We initially talked about changing to another country but God continued to shut those doors. Then we started praying about trying to have another biological child and thats when I found out I was pregnant with our second child. During the time I was pregnant there was some movement in Ethiopia but not much. I am excited to say that there has been lots of movement in the past 4 months and things are going a lot more smoothly in Ethiopia. So how does it work now that we have Westyn? Our agency's policy is we can still remain active on the list, so while I was pregnant and now that Westyn is here we have still been moving up the list. What we can not do is except a referral until Westyn has been in our home for 6 months. So where does that lead us? Westyn is now 5 months old and we are #19 on the list. On April 29 we will have been on the wait list for 24 months. We will be able to accept a referral in May. Would you please pray with us that this will be the year our son will get to join our family. We are all so excited to see how God puts the final pieces of this puzzle together.

I'm a little late on our 7 month waiting post but I guess better late then never! There really isn't much news to share this month in the adoption world. Our agency is still giving out referrals and things are still moving just a little slower but we are thankful for movement. We are 7 months closer to meeting our sweet boy!!

Pies...Pies...Pies
During the month of December we are going to be making and selling pies to help raise money for our adoption. Each pie will cost $12. So instead of buying a pie from Kroger for your last minute Christmas party you can buy a homemade pie as well as help bring our son home from Ethiopia!!!
How you can help...
1.) You can make a pie to donate (we can pick them up)
2.) You can purchase a pie.
- In order to purchase a pie you can either email me or send me a message on Facebook and I can let you know what types of pies we have available.

Happy Halloween!!
We decided this year just to stay at home and go around our subdivision instead of trying to go a million places. My grandparents came up for dinner and then stayed to answer our door while we took Hadden Trick-or Treating. We had such a good time and are so thankful for the time we get to spend with MeMe and PaPa.
This was the first year Hadden really got into Halloween. He wasn't sure about the costume at first but once he figured out he got candy everything else didn't matter. He completly surprised me though he was not affraid to walk up to the doors and pick what candy he wanted. He was such a big boy. Now we have lost of candy that I know we should not be eating!!

6 Months Waiting...
We have officially been on the wait list half a year now! When we originally stated the adoption process from Ethiopia the wait time for an infant boy 0-12months was 4-6 months so if that was still the case we would more then likely have a referral right now. Since the process it taking longer we were able to change our age range form 0-12 months to a 0-24 month old little boy!! With that said our son could most diffidently be born already. I can't wait to get my hands on our sweet son that God has hand picked for our family! Please continue to pray for all the adoptions in Ethiopia and decisions that are being made.
